Welcome to week three!
Are you getting pumped about breath work yet? Are you showing you friends, doing it in your free time, or even maybe ENJOYING it? Hopefully if you’re doing this every day, and if so, hopefully you’re feeling better because…
BREATH WORK HELPS DETOXIFY YOUR BODY!
Awh yasss, you heard me right. Toxins in our body are excreted in many different ones. One way is your lymphatic system. Not sure what I’m talking about? Think back to a time you were sick and went to the doctor, they palpate (or feel) under your jaw on your neck to see if your lymph nodes are swollen. Yeah, those guys, they’re all over your body.
Sadly, our lymphatic system needs a bit of help. It has no pump or anything to help rid it of toxins. The way it’s rids itself of toxins is when the muscles, arteries, vein, and other body stuff basically pushes it out of the lymph node. Kinda like a sponge.
By doing breath work you’re making the diaphragm work more, your building lung capacity, and even strengthening chest muscles. One of the major lymph drains is found right by the heart.
So this week we’re going to try out…
YOGA BREATHING!
Get Comfy again. I prefer to sit in lotus position/Indian style/crossed legged and make sure I’m keep my spine and back straight but allowing myself to feel relaxed. Allowing my arms and hands to rest on my legs or hang down and rest on the floor or bed.
Body Scan time!
Now you’re going to take your right thumb and place it over the right nostril.
Inhale through the left nostril. Exhale through nose or mouth.
On your second inhale, place your right ring finger over your left nostril and inhale through the right.
Exhale.

Then switch hands or just repeat what you’re doing. Do this until you feel satisfied.
Just remember to take long, slow, deep inhales and exhale slowly unless instructed to do differently.
*CAUTION: Take time when finished to recover, our bodies usually aren’t used to new things like breath work and you may experience lightheadedness, tingling, or dizziness. I’m not a professional, I’m not a doctor, and there could possibly be more side effects that I’m unaware of, so practice caution when standing up. Take it slow and relaxation can cause our blood pressure to drop, and if standing too fast, it is possible to pass out.*
